Limited Edition Print – Kate Groobey La lutte, 2014
Kate Groobey is a painter and performance artist based between France and England, known for figures drawn from life, magazines, and imagination. She has shown at OFR Gallery and Saatchi Gallery, and in 2018 became the first woman to win the Daiwa Foundation Art Prize.
"La Lutte" places an Italian farmer against wavering cypress trees, printed across five copper plates at Il Bisonte — the layering building a depth of tone and colour that a single plate couldn't hold. Groobey's figures carry their usual sense of movement: bodies that seem to be mid-gesture, caught between dance and effort.
All proceeds support the Villa Lena Foundation.
