Ima-Abasi Okon works across video, screen printing, sculpture, painting, and publishing. She holds a Communication Design MA from Central Saint Martins and completed a two-year Fellowship at the Royal Academy Schools, London. Her practice probes language, aspiration, failure, and the dynamics of power and identity.

For this print, Okon made monoprints — each individually varnished after printing, making every edition unique. The title, in her tradition, is long and visually striking, carrying as much meaning as the image itself. Dark browns and gold evoke something sacred and earthbound — natural wood gilded by hand, time compressed into surface.
