Kon Trubkovich was born in Moscow and is based in New York. Working across painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture, he explores confinement, rebellion, and autonomy — drawing on events like the Attica Prison Riots and the Stanford Prison Experiment. He has exhibited globally since 2006, including at PS1 and Kunstmuseum Bern.
At Villa Lena, Trubkovich developed a double-plate print: one plate a portrait of his wife, her fingerprints pressed directly into the soft surface; the other an eerie tangle of leafless branches against night. The pairing plays into his ongoing preoccupation with found footage, surveillance, and the charged space between the intimate and the disturbing.
All proceeds support the Villa Lena Foundation.
