Limited Edition Print – Beatrice Boyle, Crack, 2014
Beatrice Boyle is a London-based figurative painter known for large-scale manipulated portraiture. She studied at Camberwell College of Art and Central Saint Martins, and has shown at White Columns in New York, KoMASK in Antwerp, and The Arcade Project in London.
"Crack" reduces the body to a single physical element — enough to evoke the whole. The gender of the figure is deliberately ambiguous, but the sexualised undertone holds, pressing on questions of commodification and how the female body is framed in art. Form is compressed, detail stripped away, leaving only the essential lines.
All proceeds support the Villa Lena Foundation.
